DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Creating all functional prototypes, design templates, style-sheets and coding conventions.
• Enforcing compliance with W3C Web standards
• Staying abreast of new design trends and the latest technologies.
• Ensuring accessibility across a wide variety of user agents.
• Mentoring designers and developers on proper usage of Web standards and specifically semantic mark-up and advanced CSS.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Must be passionate about the Web with expert level knowledge in the area of W3C Web Standards, a focus on semantic markup, document structure and Cascading Style Sheets, and an obsession with the separation of structure from presentation from behavior.
• Must have the ability to work through complex CSS issues.
• Driven by User Centered Design, usability and accessibility
• Strong working knowledge of Interaction Design and Information Architecture
• A proven track record of leading the delivery of high-quality web development work. A strong working knowledge of Web development methodologies and experience playing an active role in all phases of the Web development process.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to make decisions quickly in consultation with team members and subject matter experts
• The ability to build relationships quickly, and understand the dynamics of a complex global business environment. Candidate will foster strong relationships with internal clients through high-quality delivery, creative and strategic thinking, and good listening and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm to make a difference in the work place, and the motivation to continually improve the services delivered.
• The ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities to create competitive advantage through the innovative use of technology.
• Expertise in the following technologies & standards:
XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.1, W3C Web Standards, Section 508 & WCAG guidelines for accessibility
• Experience in the following technologies & standards:
Javascript, ASP, .NET, XML, XSL, CMS (preferably Interwoven TeamSite), GMS (preferably Idiom WorldServer)
• Working knowledge of AJAX is desirable.
• Experience in the following development tools:
Macromedia Dreamweaver, Altova XMLSpy, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, ClearQuest, Adobe Photoshop
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
• 8+ years of experience in Web development and/or design.
• College degree or equivalent experience in human-computer interaction, product design, graphic design, MIS, Computer Science or related field.
